| Women Economic Empowerment |
No nation can progress without participation of its women in its national economy. Pakistani women constitute almost half of population and are actively contributing in our national economy.
In rural areas women folk lend helping hand to their men in almost every activity of farming. But due to employing traditional ways of farming per acre yield is very low that is a big factor in rural poverty which is forcing rural population to look towards other options and especially to migrate to big cities that is resulting in pressure on urban infrastructure creating other socio-economic problems.
The women constitute of over 50% of population, who can play a vital role in economic development of our country but unfortunately they are lying idle in rural area in the majority of cases. To realize women of their potential and to give them a line of productive work, we at Safe Winds Organization have launched this project aimed to raise household income of women in collaboration with Human Relief Foundation.
The reason for selecting this area is; most of the families living here are related to agriculture and labor. Women are already helping out their men in fields; they know traditional techniques of farming to some extent.
If they are taught mechanized & modern farming (tunnel farming), this can increase yield per acre; which would result; increase in household income and if their men folks are persuaded by there women to opt these methodologies, this will bring about a huge economic change in the region. |
| Benefit |
The benefit of this project, is to empower women with the help of kitchen gardening, on a very small scale to provide them with daily vegetable required in the household & helping them save the amount of Rs. 6,000/- (estimate), and if these 300 families start cooperating with this project, it will lead to the total benefit of about Rs.5,400,000/- Estimated, if they only use the yield for household & incase they don’t sell it. |

| Education |
Basic Education Program
Safe Winds Organization (SWO) started its education project under the name of “Basic Education Program”, through the non-formal education system. But with the passage of time it has been converted into a formal system.
Following are the salient features of the program:
- Based on SWO philosophy of community participation, a school is started when and where the community is willing, eager and ready to provide space for the school.
- The curriculum is the same as the government schools, with the addition of English beginning in nursery school.
- SWO has implemented an activity-based, joyful-learning method. The goal is to instill the love of learning among children.
- Teachers are selected, whenever possible from the same community. This way, there is very little turn over of teachers. Also the local people trust their children, especially daughters, with someone they know. The teacher also feels comfortable because he or she knows the community and can deal with several social issues.
- The teachers have to go through a teacher's training program before beginning and then periodically thereafter.
- Material will be provided by SWO which is included teacher’s salary, teacher’s training, books and furniture.
- School will be enhanced according the need and with the recommendation of community representative and parents.

| Clean Water Project |
Water is critical to nourishing and fostering life. One in two people in developing countries cannot access clean water, and hundreds die every day due to illnesses related to contaminated water. Every day, diarrhea diseases from easily preventable causes claim the lives of approximately 5000 people, most of them young children. According to a survey, 70% population of Pakistan is deprived of cleaned drinking water.

Water-borne diseases are any illness caused by drinking water contaminated by human or animal faeces, which contain pathogenic micro-organisms. The full picture of water-associated diseases is complex for a number of reasons. Over the past decades, the picture of water-related human health issues has become increasingly comprehensive, with the emergence of new water-related infection diseases and the re-emergence of ones already known.
These diseases are largely caused by micro-organisms present in human or animal waste (faeces) finding their way into humans via the mouth (orally). This may happen through drinking from a contaminated water supply (water-borne disease), but more often faecal-oral diseases are spread through other routes, such as via hands, clothes, food, or materials use for cooking, eating or drinking.(More rarely, some of these diseases may also enter the body through the eyes, nose or open wounds.) These diseases are infectious, which means that they can spread from one person to another. So high standards of hygiene and sanitation are need to stop the disease spreading.In developing countries especially in Pakistan four-fifths of all the illnesses are caused by water-borne diseases, with diarrhoea being the leading cause of childhood death.

Safe Winds Organization is working on continuing basis to supply clean water and awareness campaign on waterborne diseases.
Objectives of the campaign are
- To get and provide sufficient knowledge regarding waterborne diseases;
- To understand and create awareness about the overall effect of waterborne diseases on environment;
- To educate people regarding waterborne diseases by using electronic print media;
- To provide treatment (medication, vaccination, diagnostics etc) to people.
- To gain sympathy of people by providing quality services at their door steps;

| The Need
Safe Winds Organization seeks to develop the capacities, in teachers and learners, to face challenges of unprecedented proportion: the continued development of weapons of mass destruction, armed conflicts between states and ethnic groups, terrorism, the spread of racism, gender inequality, community violence, the huge and widening gap between the rich and the poor throughout the globalized economy, massive violations of human rights and the degradation of the environment.
On the other hand there is no meaning of development without peace. For sustainable development a peaceful atmosphere is must and without this the existence of a prosperous, healthy and developed society is just a dream. No country in the world can make progress nor could it become a stable one unless it has the class of people who possess brotherly feeling of sympathy, unity, peace cooperation and sacrifice. The stability and development of human organization is hidden in the feelings of sustainable peace and cooperation. History says that disorganization, disunity and hatred among the people are responsible for the decay of human society. Therefore, every country in the world strives for the establishment of peace, justice, coexistence, welfare of the common people and to safeguard the freedom of its people. Unfortunately the present world is moving towards a disaster because of the differences created among various cultures, nations and religions. The media and policies of the governments have further developed a gap of understanding among cultures and religions. The goal of campaign is to assure that all educational systems throughout the world will educate for a culture of peace.
How Campaign Work
Paintings are bridge source of short message peace campaign paintings are painted voluntarily by students of Fine Art and Artist from all over the world. It will dedicate by famous to famous people and will take the message on peace. Message will spread out to community through local organizations.
Campain Satement
A culture of peace will be achieved when citizens of the world understand global problems, have the skills to resolve conflict constructively, know and live by international standards of human rights, gender and racial equality and terrorism, appreciate cultural diversity, and respect the integrity of the Earth. Such learning can not be achieved without intentional, sustained and systematic education for peace. |

Youth for Peace is an initiative of Safe Winds Organization for a non violent and peaceful world. Safe Winds Organization is inviting youth to involve them in its peace related activities. Safe Winds Organization youth will participate in awareness activities like seminars, conferences, sports events, exhibition and workshops. The main objective of involving youth in the campaign is to prepare young individuals to play a leadership role in future and to keep them abreast of the global peace and security situations. From the platform of Safe Winds Organization youth, the members will not only interact with friends at local and national level but at the same time they will share information with the youth of other countries and cultures. The overall vision of the initiative is to strive for a non-violent and peaceful society through the active and practical participation of youth |
